Good things from unlikely situations
Sometimes things just work out right.
It started with Ben’s car breaking down last August or September. Borrowed rides for a bit and then his uncle offered to let him drive his old pickup that wasn’t getting much use. It was just sitting there.
’01 Ford extended cab 3/4 ton. They call it something other than an extended cab. The good diesel engine. The 7.3 that can go forever.
And then the Subaru that Will was driving broke down on his way home for Christmas. Needs a new transmission which will cost more than the car’s worth. It was a good little car for a bunch of years.
Will went back to AR in my car. So we fixed Ben’s car and made a deal on my brother in law’s pickup.
It’s really just what we need. From being a daily driver to pulling a stock trailer loaded up with cattle, it can do it mighty fine.
We don’t know much about diesels. But we can learn.
Austin really took good care of this pickup for a bunch of years. That is obvious. Actually, if it wouldn’t have been his, I can’t really imagine that we would have wanted to buy it.
I’m just drove it up to the FC Mid-year in Richardson. I forgot how tight a pickup is. I feel lucky. Or blessed.
It just goes to show how good things can come from unlikely situations.
