Herding cats
Up late last night reading a book again… and then up late this morning. I think I beat the sun, but not the sunlight, which was filtering through the bathroom window, through the bathroom door, and into my eyes when they opened. Feels like the dream where you’re caught with your pants down.
The book, which I finished this afternoon, was about a husband caring for his wife while they fought a war with cancer that was trying its best to take her life. It did. And it does.
I had an email this morning from a professor who was letting me know that he would love to meet for lunch soon. Of course I can do that! It’s another chance to encourage someone who I think of as being on the front lines. I don’t mean to imply that college campuses are battle grounds. But I guess they are. It’s a battle of ideas. Or it should be. But sometimes and some places it’s a pretty one sided battle.
Another kind of battle we have pretty often here at Base Camp is between cats a dog. It’s Daisy reminding us that herding cats is a losing proposition…
