We believe that people have a natural urge to explore – this constant pull to discover what’s around the next bend or over the next rise.
At the same time, we crave roots – the utterly familiar where we rest, recover, dream, and plan… in an atmosphere of well-being, acceptance, and grace… where we are known and loved, without requirement or condition, free of stress, worry, and anxiety.
Muckleroy Base Camp is about the pursuit of what is most important, celebrating meaningful moments, and embarking on epic journeys, whatever they may be.
…The pursuit of what’s most important…
And just how are we supposed to know what is most important?
Here is a great tragedy: getting to the end of our lives and realizing that we gave our lives to the wrong thing.
Seems to me that before we can know what is most important, we need to understand who we are and why we’re here. Through Jesus, I am God’s son. That is who I am. The rest is just window dressing.
And I am here to help others know Jesus. My aim is to make much of him.
Faithful and Forgotten
My work is not for my credit. There is no brand of mine to be built. That goes against our celebrity culture.
There is nothing new under the sun.
People want to be at the center of the universe. The age of autonomy says that it’s all about me.
John the Baptist said that, “He (Jesus) must increase, but I must decrease.” -John 3:30
If I’m honest, though I want Christ to increase, I don’t really want to decrease. I want to make much of Jesus. I want to see amazing things happen for his glory on campuses. But I kinda want to be listed in the credits.
God is faithful. So I know that I can pray about this and he will sort it out.
Many who have gone before in making much of Jesus have been forgotten. They are heroes.
I want to get this right. I want to do the best I can and let the chips fall where they will. I want to do the best I can to make Christ’s love abound. I want my life to make much of Him. And I will trust the results to God.
Because even long after I am forgotten, God is faithful.
To God be the glory.
