The Lord is my shepherd and I am grateful.
I am grateful to know that I am not alone. Ever.
My relatives near and far keep me connected and urge me onward.
There is love and persistence and grounding and dreaming with my wife. There is joy with my kids. I am grateful that we are not automatic. We are not functional. We are family.
I am grateful for my work. For the opportunity to apply myself in a way that matters.
I am grateful to be able to live where we do. I am grateful for our small town. For our growing network of friends. Even for the endless chores and the work that needs to be done. For the mostly completed tractor shed/lamb pen. For the dog laying out there waiting for me to feed the lamb because the boy left early with my wife to run a couple of quick errands.
I am grateful even for the struggles. The little nagging complaints that remind me that I’m human and that God isn’t done with me. I am glad that we’re here together taking steps of faith and moving forward.
